Uses: The kinemage is used for viewing a structure for which the coordinates have already been determined. The author of a kinemage determines those aspects of the structure that s/he wishes to emphasize and designs the figure accordingly. The reader can then examine and rotate the structure in three-dimensions and interact with it by toggling on/off buttons that are defined by the author.

PREKIN is a utility program which prepares trial kinemages from Brookhaven Protein Data Bank format coordinate files. PREKIN comes with MAGE when you download Mage_all.exe or Mage_all.sea.hqx if you would like to try your hand at creating kinemages. Some documentation is available at: Kinemage Coobook: A Tutorial
